Remembering Laura Pearson

The Alpha-1 Foundation is sad to announce that Laura Pearson passed away on September 11, 2022. Laura was a part of the Alpha-1 Foundation office family and served as the Florida Detection Coordinator for the State of Florida Detection Program. Laura retired from her role in 2017. She put her heart and soul into the program and as an Alpha dedicated many hours to her local support group and educated the medical community about Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. Laura made her colleagues laugh and smile and she will be greatly missed by all.

Laura Marie Pearson, a nurse, lawyer, and resident of Mills River, North Carolina passed away on September 11th, 2022 at the age of 75 at Elizabeth House Hospice Center in Flat Rock, North Carolina. Laura is survived by her two children, Laura Rose McNeely and Jack Pearson, her sister Cathy Johannes-Noble, her son-in-law Cameron McNeely, and her granddaughter Laura Grace McNeely.
