Jeffrey Teckman is a Professor of Pediatrics and Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the Saint Louis University School of Medicine, Cardinal Glennon Children's Medical Center. His research involves studying the mechanisms by which liver damage occurs in Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency and how this damage can be treated and prevented. He is also involved in a variety of national and international clinical studies on liver disease. He has written numerous scientific papers on Alpha-1. He also authored a "Question and Answer Book" for families living with liver disease due to Alpha-1. Dr. Teckman is familiar with patients with lung disease through his late wife who suffered from the lung complications of Cystic Fibrosis and received a lung transplant.

James Stocks, Md's, Bio:plus

For the past 15 years Dr. Stocks has been a faculty member of the University of Texas Health Center at Tyler. His major research focus has been Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency. He was a principal investigator in the NHLBI registry of patients with severe Alpha-1 Deficiency from 1988-1995. Over the last decade Dr. Stocks has participated as a principal investigator in almost every pharmaceutical trial for Alpha-1 conducted in the United States. He is a member of the Alpha-1 Foundation's Medical and Scientific Advisory Committee with responsibilities for oversight of the Research Registry. He is a past member of the Alpha-1 Association's Board of Directors.

Heather Driscoll, RD's, Bio:plus

Heather Driscoll is a Registered Dietitian and Manager of Clinical Nutrition at the University of Colorado Hospital, in Aurora Colorado. She received her Bachelor of Science in Nutrition from Texas State University and completed her graduate internship there as well. She obtained her Master of Business Administration degree from the University of Colorado at Denver. She has broad clinical and management experience - from staff dietician in sub-acute rehabilitation, to regional dietician for multi-state skilled nursing facilities, to federal nutrition program administrator, to national specialty infusion clinical manager. She is now the Clinical Acute Care Manager in a premier regional academic hospital. Heather's specialties include nutrition and aging, eternal nutrition, nutrition advancement with neurosurgery, and nutrition in respiratory disease.

Virginia "Ginger" Clark, MD's, Bio:plus

Virginia "Ginger" Clark serves as the Associate Program Director of the Transplant Hepatology Fellowship and as an Assistant Professor of Medicine at the University of Florida's Division of Gastroenterology, Hepatology, and Nutrition. She has been the recipient of the Fellowship Award from the American Association for the Study of Liver Diseases Advanced Hepatology. Her research interests are focused on Alpha-1 Antitrypsin Deficiency and Fatty Liver Disease. She serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the Alpha-1 Association.
