Alpha-1 Association

The Alpha-1 Association’s Genetic Counseling Center (1-800-785-3177) offers free phone-based confidential information and resources to Alphas, family members and medical professionals on the genetics of Alpha-1 and provides information on testing options. Specifically, the Center:

Provides information about inheritance, testing, management, prevention, resources and research.

Helps people understand and adapt to the medical, psychological and familial implications of genetic contributions to disease.

Provides supportive counseling and referral to community or state support services.

Promotes informed choices and adaptation to the risk or condition and review available testing options with the family.
