The Association’s annual National Education Conference is the largest gathering of Alphas and family members in the country and consists of a weekend of educational programs given by national experts and leaders in the field of Alpha-1 and other areas such as health, nutrition, emotional support, and public policy.
This Conference serves as a catalyst for Alphas networking with other Alphas, for Alphas to become motivated to take charge of their health, for Alphas to become involved in the Alpha-1 community through a local Support Group, fundraising programs, or advocacy. Each National Conference affords newly diagnosed Alphas to meet other Alphas for the first time and to realize that they are not alone. It also provides an opportunity for industry to interact with patients directly regarding questions they may have regarding products and services. The Conference is held in a different part of the country each year.
