The Medigap Access Improvement Act of 2007 H.R. 1282 calls for parity in all states to ensure that individuals who are disability qualified into the Medicare system have the opportunity to purchase Medigap insurance. The Association continues to work with the Medigap Coalition on promoting the co-sponsorship of this bill to members of the House. The CBO has provided a score for this bill which as with all legislation presumes increased utilization and unfortunately estimated that this will cost in the billions for the federal government. With this outrageous “score” the bill thus becomes unlikely to pass.
