Marlene Erven joined the Alpha-1 Association in June 2006 as Executive Director. In this capacity she is responsible for providing the leadership to achieve the Association’s philosophy and mission, and to implement its strategic goals and objectives. She has been involved with the Alpha-1 Community since 1997 and served as the Director of Development and Communications for the Alpha-1 Foundation for 7 years.
Marlene has an extensive background in non-profit management. She has served as President of the Cedars Medical Center Foundation in Miami for twelve years and headed her own nonprofit consulting firm for 8 years. She has expertise in volunteer management, health administration, program development and fundraising. Marlene received her Bachelor’s of Science degree in Professional Administration from Barry University in Miami.
